This is a an excellent Compilation. I picked it up after reading his book on Grace which I must say brightened and enlightened my life very much. I skipped over the second book after reading part of it because I feel it is basically for ministers and a little hard for me. I have started reading TIL HE COME and can only say on my good reading all in all and warms the heart I feel.. I feel anyone who reads this compilation will receive a lot of blessings but that's just me saying . As a caveat looking forward to reading Dayy by day starting in the new year
I read on my smartphone, so I do not know how the formatting would be on a tablet. Here are the issues:Book Problems:All of GraceTil He ComeMorning and EveningOn these books,every fourth line or so was indented and right in the middle of a sentence. Also sometimes there are multiple spaces between words. It is hard to read a whole book this way.The other books, AN ALL AROUND MINISTRY, COMMENTING AND COMMENTARIES, ECCENTRIC PREACHERS, were all fine with no formatting issues.Still, for a buck, you can't really go wrong. Just wished they formatted all six books correctly. The table of contents is excellent.
You may not know this, but Spurgeon is considered to be the father of the mega-church; however, many mega-churches today have veered off course from preaching Scripture to preaching feel-good-isms. It's important to get back to the basics, strip away all the fluff, and rediscover our purpose as a church. What better way to do this than to reacquaint ourselves with the mega-church movement by reading Spurgeons single books than to have one book with six in one! Love it!
No matter what denomination a person is, books written by spiritual giants of the past, I believe, can add to our own spiritual journey and condition today. Some people don't like reading prose of the past, but a few of us do, I think its kind of fun. The fervency of Spurgeon has caused me to grow closer to God myself. I am enjoying reading this.
He learned under his mentor, Oswald Chambers. Although their writings are similar, their understanding has quite different spins to them. Even though this book was published years ago, it will always keep its freshness and open your mind to understanding the scriptures with no confusion. I find Spurgeon to be a visionary and also allows me to see a different view on certain subjects. I find this man to be well leavened and very well knowledgeable regarding their whys and reasons for doing what they did in that time period.
Charles Spurgeon, the greatest Preacher of the nineteenth Century, his writings are as powerful today as they were during his lifetime. Probably more so, this edition is a fantastic bargain, I looked for his books on another site, and as usual found the best price was on Amazon. I am very grateful Amazon continues to carry Christian Books for those of us who love them. Thank you Amazon!

Whether purchased for a reference work or devotional reading, this compilation of Christian literature is a prize of great value.
Spurgeon had a close relationship with Christ through a close relationship with the Holy Spirit. His writing are rich with his experiences and the resulting faith. He repeatedly references the intimacy of John resting his head on Christ bosom, and points that this should be our goal, not to only learn about Jesus , but to experience him this closely. Each days reading will open you to new thoughts of how you can pursue a closer relationship with the Jesus. This book is time well spent.
