This is a very uplifting autobiographical writing of her and her family's life in the States after arriving from Norway. Her faith and unending grace and mercy to all around her spur us on to also help those around us. Even the difficulties of life are cushioned with humor. Even the little one has can become much when served with compassion. This is a very good book to begin Margaret Jensen's other written books.
This is my favorite of the Margaret Jenson books, so inspirational. It secondarily highlights the customs of the Scandinavian culture.
Margaret has such a homey way of writing you'll immediately feel you are written into the story. She transports you through time to her youth growing up in Saskatoon, Canada, and Chicago where you are at once part of the family. She shares the love, biblical truths and lessons her mother taught which still has the power to change our lives. Absolutely loved it!
If you are interested in women's lives at the turn of the 20th century, and/or are following Christ, you will love this book. I read it through in one sitting, and it has reverberated in my life ever since. A touching biography of a woman who gives her all for the Lord.
