This book is a must have for any new user of an iphone. The book is divided into logical sections that have clear instructions on the different functions of the phone. It's also nice to have an index that sends you to your area of interest without having to hunt through the book. I felt there were a few weaknesses if you didn't opt for one of the "preferred" apps. (ie" e-mail services). Also, there is not enough explanation for some of the features such as how to add information to your favorites or how to get face to face up and running. However, the few areas I struggled with initially became quite clear as I used the phone more frequently. If you're afraid of iphone technology, buy the book!

Easy for my father-in-law to read through and find a specific subject. The book is full of helpful tips for anyone really.

I got this for my wife who has a new iPhone. She found it very helpful especially since the phone does not come with any operating instructions.

I recently bought an i phone and thanks to Mr Spivey's clear explanations feel I've mastered all I want to use it for. I'll dive into it again when I'm ready to try another function of this amazing cell phone. I am a senior and am so glad I bought this book, it was well worth the money.

This must be one of the worst "self help" books ever. When I have an "issue" (voice mail is a good example) I try to find it in the book, but there's nothing. I was finding the answer much faster by just Goggling it

I bought 2 of these books on basis of good experience with the dummies series, one for myself as a seventy year old senior and one for a ninety-five year old who asked me to help him. I really wish I'd looked through one before buying. This Dummies book is as close to worthless as I have ever seen. Basic topics covered are lacking such as "Text" where there are 2 pages referenced, both of which tell nothing about text other than changing size. Following the poor topics covered, I found the coverage itself lacking in clarity and usefulness.The dummies here are anyone buying a book authored by this person.

Has been very helpful, easy to navigate and understand. Love it!

I like being able to read this story without having to purchase or read the ancillary tie-in stories. I really enjoyed the "Planet Hulk" arc that preceded this one. John Romita Jr. and Klaus Janson turned in some respectable work on this book, but I really believe that either Ed McGuiness or Dale Keown would've knocked this one into the stratosphere. Heck, I would've even preferred Leinil Yu, Carlo Pagulayan, Bryan Hitch or the cover artist, David Finch. Still, Romita and Janson turned in some nice, action-packed art on this book. I really enjoyed the story and art on the impeccable Planet Hulk and Ed McGuiness did illustrate most of the artwork for the "Hulk/Red Hulk" arc that came after World War Hulk. I have the kindle version of this book that I got for free (along with the Dark Phoenix Saga) after having purchased numerous trade paperbacks, graphic novels, and art/illustration books here on Amazon. All in all, I got a very sweet deal.

This was a lot of fun.There's a whole book of set up - Planet Hulk - but it's neatly summarized in this book. A group of heroes, tired of the Hulk's rage, shot him into space into what they thought would be a paradise world. It wasn't. After fighting for his survival there, Hulk won and has returned with an army to seek revenge.The Avengers, the Fantastic Four and the US Army throw everything at the Hulk but to no avail. One by the one the heroes of the Marvel Universe fall and a good chunk of New York is leveled as we watch the final epic battle.There are some minor problems, it's hard to believe that a genius like Reed Richards or a sorcerer with a wealth of powers like Dr Strange can't think of more ways to stop the Hulk than we see. And the ending is a bit pat, with everything restored to the status quo. But it's still a fun slug fest with a lot of emotion and heart.The only real flaw is that this is a serial book set in the Marvel Universe so in the end, everything is put (more or less) right. And somehow no one is killed or even seriously hurt. But that's the price of reading a book set in the main universe and if you're a long time comic reader like me, you might snarl at it, but you accept it as well.So yes, I recommend it.

I read this some time ago as a set of print mags. Thank god I bought them all as a set. It was an evening read I could not put down. Then a few weeks ago I was stumbling around Amazon as I am won't to do and there it was again. I'd given my print versions to a young friend who'd never heard of the series. And when I saw the series in Amazon the fire and excitement that I'd felt before rose up in me. The reading was as good and as much a rush as before. HULK SMASH! Feels good to see Hulk triumph! Unequivocally! The team did very well. And if this becomes a movie, I do hope they do it well. It deserves the full treatment as a mini series. Well done Marvel. Another gem for the treasure trove.

I would have given this five stars if not for the art. Romita does landscapes decently well, but I really dislike his human characters, particularly the faces.Once you get past the arts this is a good story, and a fine sequential the excellent planet hulk. So hulk and insufficient followers from planet hulk arrive on earth to reap revenge for the whole exile and exploding ship deal. The rest of the book is just a series of interesting fights, as each hero team and illuminati members line up to take their shot at the worldbreaker. It was interesting seeing hulk and friends wallow in their rage and almost become like the red king they fought so hard to overthrow, and even at his angriest hulk strives to save the innocent. All in all, a must read for hulk fans, but you do need to know planet hulk in my opinion.

This is the book that got me into comics again. I hadn't read a comic in about 15 years but I saw this at our library and the cover looked really awesome so I picked it up. The action scenes in this book are amazing and it is really fast paced. Since being blown away by this, I have read thousands more since and am glad I got back into comics. We bought the paperback and my son looked at and read it so much the binding fell apart. Now we have the digital copy, which lets you zoom in on the individual frames. This one will always be my guilty pleasure.

I've not read many graphic novels that have comics combined, but with the upcoming Ragnarok movie, I wanted to get some background going on what I hope is going to be a fabulous Thor flick.It was.. a different kind of Hulk from my childhood but that's not a bad thing, just.. different.I docked a star due to Zon shipping it with other stuff just laying in the box, a corner of the cover and first few pages got tweaked. Should have had it wrapped or in a zip lock bag or something. I didn't get that "pristine/I am the first to read this" feel from the experience.See you at the movies!

This comic was good from a story's point of view but the drawing and art rendering although beautiful was a muddled mess at time's. It was hard to understand and even interpret what I was looking at. I think it suffered from to much crammed into one plate and that was hard to read and interpret. Comic's shouldn't be this way when the creator's of these comic's is dependent of what you are seeing. I wanted so much to give it more than three 🌟 but it's just to messy.

The Incredible Hulk returns to Earth to teach his old frenemies a lesson. He systematically takes down the most powerful heroes in the Marvel universe. The art is beautiful, the writing is excellent, the story is superb.

The focus was on helping your business present polished videos and get word out about them so that people will view them. The book helps you figure out who your target audience is, what type of videos will be most effective for your company, how to set up your account on YouTube and upload your videos (step by step), and how to advertise your videos or have advertising on your videos.While they did briefly describe the type of equipment you would need to do your own video work, you can get more detailed descriptions of this from an online search than from the book. They recommended that you hire someone to do the video work instead of doing it yourself, so they didn't spend much time on this aspect. They did list and describe a variety of video editing programs, but they provided only general information on the other equipment. If you want to know how to set up lighting, run a video camera, or use that editing software, they suggested looking it up on YouTube or certain magazine websites.I received an ebook review copy from the publisher through Netgalley.

This is a very good book about Kratom. It’s easy to read and gives you dosage guidance which is really helpful.

A helpful accessory for those of us that want to know more about the supplement we are taking or those curious about this wondrous plant. Short book though.

This book is super educational. I wasn’t expecting to learn as much as I did. I have also shared it with my parents as my dad suffers from arthritis.

No references given at all!! Poorly written and an Information was mostly correct, if a bit vague. Contradictory info re food or not and missing an entire discussion on ph, and the use of lemons and such to release activecompounds. .Some mistakes, like info about toss and wash, which is taking powder in dry form, will certainly have some poor novice choke on it. Nasty. If only he had cited all the sources he used, all would be worthwhile, but not to be. More and better info,with references, can be dug up on reddit/kratom

I really loved that this book presents you with 101 facts about Kratom. Each fact is really informative and the layout of the book makes for fun reading. It’s a guide you can keep referring back to. Really enjoyed it

Spent a couple of months in Hungary in 2013 and found the guide quite helpful. However, as usual for Lonely Planet, a ton of fluff has been put in such as restaurant lists - what kind of a tourist uses this? Surely the authors could have found something better to use the space for...

Nice overview of the country, well organized and very descriptive. I travel to Europe often and have used lonely planet before. I like the way they focus on details. Easy to read, good explanations of how to get to the towns via trains and buses. Included a nice map of Budapest.

This book came in very handy during my most recent trip to Hungary. Lonely Planet books are certainly at the top of tour books. I get them all the time.

My 1st grader had a book report to do on an assigned American Hero, and this was his assignment. I think this book is well put together and has some interesting facts, however there is a large portion dedicated to the civil war and slavery. I felt like this material was above what a first grader can really comprehend even though it was put into the most simple terms possible. I also don't think first graders have any business doing book reports though. If I were to do it again I think I'd just print out some information from online and let him use that as the material for his report. You certainly can find a wealth of information online and this skims the surface.

Great book! My son had to do a biography book report and wasn't thrilled about it. But I bought him this book and he actually got into it! He enjoyed reading it and got a lot of neat facts for his report. And he even enjoyed doing his book report. He is on a 2nd to beginning 3rd grade reading level.

we used this book to provide talking points for a three minute oral presentation in class.

Another great bio from National Geographic. Who doesn't love stories about Abe Lincoln? Good facts, interesting story and easy to read for struggling readers.

I bought this for a first grader going into second grade. It was easy reading with lots of pictures. It is paperback so easy take along in the car. An added bonus: He may learn something beyond video games.

Great book, and the recipes work well if you're willing to think carefully about what some of the older terms mean, and learn how to measure in the pre-Fanny Farmer way. Don't, however, get it if you want modern recipes — you'll be disappointed. It's definitely old-fashioned food with directions for cooking it the old-fashioned way, down to instructions on how to set the damper of your wood-burning stove. The Gold Cake is especially good, and the breakfast cream cake was a pleasure to eat.

This book is a fascinating window into the "Big House" kitchens of the south. Written (dictated, actually, as Mrs. Fisher could not write) in 1881 by a former slave who was proud of her skills, it includes directions on how to pickle, preserve, and prepare amazingly elegant food in the kitchens *before* the turn of the century - using wood stoves, fireplaces, and iceboxes but nothing we'd recognize as refrigeration. Really interesting - a book you can learn a thing or two from!

Love this book - great history, great voice, and inspiration for our cooking at home. So interesting to read about how the misinterpretations of the woman who wrote it up for her (not understanding Mrs Fisher's Southern accent) resulted in things miswritten, such as Circuit Hash instead of Succotash. Can't wait to try the recipes, especially the preserves!

I was a bit disappointed in this cookbook. First of all, I expected something larger than what looks like a Scholastic children's book. Next, I expected more about the actual author but there was hardly anything. Oh well, I guess for $9 you get what you pay for, huh? There are better vintage African American cookbooks out there. I suppose it was ok for the1800s.

very good and simple recipes. it took me a bit to realize why the cooking temps were not annotated then it hit me, this was written in the late 1800s and they didn't cook with anything but fire. i really like it and look forward to trying the recipes.

Nothing too unheard of, fun to read. I may try a few of the recipes. Beat(en) Biscuit is also in Fanny Farmer 1896 edition. I made that once just for fun. They were kinda weird, good in soup. Like really hard crackers. Maybe I screwed it up though.

Recipes are not easy to follow. Hard to gather items without a list before instructions. It was difficult for mom to use.

Great piece of history, but not written as a cookbook as we know it. Be prepared to do a bit of research on certain things.
